Ha ha fucking ha! Criminally unethical Nixon aides whining about Douglas Felt's ethics. Ha ha fucking ha! Their mode of operation seems to be, "Ya we committed crimes, but the FBI was supposed to cover them up." And that worked until someone at the FBI grew what they never did -- a fucking conscience, deceny, and a sense of what was best for the country. It's called real patriotism instead of instead of the amoral will to power that drove them.
I laugh when I hear about the lack of cooperation between the intelligence services. I laugh at the fact that these people who are making these laws for the most part were around at the time of Watergate (Senators especially). Their stunning lack of historical perspective amuse the hell out of me. Do you know why the intelligences services were barred from sharing information? Because when they could before Watergate they abused the hell out of it. Watergate was the straw, but the camel was pretty well fucking loaded with other abuses. The CIA spying on US citizens in United States (directly against its charter). The FBI covering up crimes for Presidents and blackmailing other politicians. It's not like this was 200 years ago. I was alive when the laws the prevent these abuses went into effect. I can make one garauntee. History will repeat itself; only this time, in this country, no one will care. You'll just disappear.
